TESTIMONIALS

I am emailing you to say a huge thank you for your support with specialist neonatal bereavement training from Bereavement Training International. This training is invaluable to neonatal intensive care nurses and will positively affect the lives of families affected by neonatal loss in hospitals across London.Without the financial support from Abigail's Footsteps, this training would not be possible.

It was such a pleasure to attend  such a wonderful day Paula - it was enlightening and humbling - with such a mixed group of health professionals in the room. Thank you for sharing your experience and your wisdom with us.

I had training with Paula today and I am so enriched with a new fountain of knowledge to support women and their families, not only as a midwifery student now, but as a midwife too once I've qualified.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the fabulous study day that you provided for us. It was so informative and we all learnt so much. The feedback we are receiving from those that attended has been great and some have come to find me just to tell me how you, Paula, had inspired them to learn more about bereavement care. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful resource.
Specialist Bereavement Midwife

Thank you so much for your help and support over the last two years. I am so lucky that Harriet died at St George’s which meant that I had access to your specialist support. This whole experience has been completely transformed by your help and guidance, especially through my pregnancy with Robyn. Your counselling meant that I never felt completely alone, always felt I had a safety net, a hand to hold, somewhere to go. I think I was probably doubly lucky in that the first person I turned to was you. I suspect that I might not have developed such a helpful relationship with many people but your combination of experience, your work as a trainer, and your willingness to listen intelligently but also sometimes to offer very clear guidance and advice really suited me. So, thank you so very much. I will never forget.

I have attended several bereavement care study days facilitated by Paula. They have all been very interactive and informative days. I have learnt so much from Paula and the networking that has been facilitated through these days. Paula always facilitates the sharing of participants’ experiences, as well as providing excellent training materials. I believe that training in the care of bereaved families should be mandatory for all staff caring for babies, children and their families. I would highly recommend any training facilitated by Paula.

I have attended many workshops run by Paula over the years as I find that I learn something new every time. It gives me the opportunity to meet others in my specialist field of work, to share best practice and bring that learning to UHCW for the benefit of patient care and staff education.

I just wanted to thank you for a fantastic training day where I feel all participants left feeling that they had really benefitted a great deal from your words. I would like to be in contact with you in the next couple of weeks to discuss more training day options for the future.

I thought your facilitation was brilliant, Paula, and really beneficial for us on multiple levels. You pitched the presentation and discussion perfectly and I felt all lay members were completely comfortable. It was helpful for us to examine our protocols as a service and consider better ways to communicate and support each other and our membership. I’d be delighted if you would offer reflective practice sessions as needed and of course with plenty of notice.

Further to recent training at St Thomas’s hospital in London, I am writing to express my thanks and appreciation for your handling of an important and necessary part of our work as health and social care professionals. The training session received through you offered a space of reflection, critical thinking and sharing with others. The training was consistently accessible through your content delivery and overall demeanour. There was a clear applied understanding of inclusion and diversity for the communities we support as a London hospital. Equally, your use and sensitive sharing of experience within the context of theory to practice was insightful. The resources provided offered reflection and consideration on how such information may be used, not only directly with parents / carers, but with other professionals too, to extend our collective depth of knowledge and applied awareness.
