Workplace training

Each year in the UK many thousands of parents will experience a pregnancy loss or the death of their baby or child.  It is estimated that 1 in 10 employees are affected at any one time.  A recent survey by SANDS, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, found that only 1 in 5 bereaved parents were offered support by their employer on their return to work.

In April 2020 the government introduced statutory parental bereavement leave, entitling parents to two weeks paid leave following the death of their baby or child. In April 2021, Channel 4 announced the launch of their dedicated Pregnancy Loss Policy, offering support that reaches far beyond these statutory requirements. Many other organisations have followed suit.

Demand for high-quality training for staff has increased, as organisations begin to update their bereavement policies and protocols.

At Bereavement Training International, we recognise that even the most experienced managers and senior leaders may feel unprepared and lacking in confidence in this sensitive area.

Our interactive training workshop is designed to help your managers and staff feel better prepared and more confident when supporting parents returning to work after pregnancy or baby loss. Our training can be delivered virtually or in your workplace and is accessible to staff at all levels within your organisation.
